Operating
since October 2001, TransACT helps small firms in Nottingham
city and throughout Nottinghamshire. It does this by researching
and funding realistic transport alternatives.
The scheme is flexible to the demands of each applicant,
and culminates in a tailored travel plan.
By attending an initial, free workshop, applicants work
closely with their transport consultant provided by TransACT.
A user survey and analysis culminate in solutions, ensuring
that each applicant can maximise the benefits available.
To date over 30 businesses county-wide have engaged in
TransACT, resulting in a wide variety of solutions such
as electric pool vehicles and bikes, I.T. homeworking equipment,
cycle storage and showers and marketing campaigns to promote
public transport usage.
Who can apply?
To be eligible, applicants must:
- be located either within Nottingham city or Nottinghamshire;
- employ between 20-250 staff (full-time equivalent);
- have no more than £25m annual turnover;
- not have more than 25% of capital or voting rights owned
by another company.
- The applicant must not use the TransACT grant to pay for
transport measures which are a requirement of any current
nor planned planning permission application.
